How to choose lighting fixtures for new house decoration, what are color temperature and color rendering index? Buying lights actually has a lot of knowledge

I have always believed that decoration is a particularly tedious task, which involves too much knowledge. But what I didn't expect was that the choice of lighting also had a wide range of options. In many areas of decoration, we can freely choose whether to hang the ceiling or make a TV background wall. I thought buying lights was the same thing, but now I realize that you can't just buy whatever lights you like. The combination and selection of lighting accessories still require some professional knowledge.
The selection of lighting accessories should consider the style, size according to the area, color temperature, and color rendering index... There is really a lot of knowledge here. Next, the editor will share the homework he has done with everyone.
1. Color temperature
Color temperature represents the most universal indicator of the spectral quality of a light source. The color temperature is based on a black luminescent body, also known as a Planck radiator - which emits light of a specific color according to different temperatures, in Kelvin K, which is the color produced by the light. The characteristic of a low color temperature light source is that there is relatively more red radiation in the energy distribution, commonly referred to as "warm light"; After the color temperature increases, the proportion of blue radiation in the energy distribution increases, commonly referred to as "cold light".
Simply put, it is the color produced by the light. The lower the K value (color temperature), the redder the light color. The higher the K value (color temperature), the bluer the color of the light.
The color temperature of some commonly used light sources is: standard candlelight is 1930 K (Kelvin temperature unit); 2760-2900K for tungsten filament lamps; 3000K for fluorescent lamps; The flash is 3800K; The noon sunlight is 5400K; The electronic flash is 6000K; The blue sky ranges from 12000 to 18000K.
Usually, the color temperature of household lighting fixtures is chosen between 3000K-4000K
2. Color rendering index
The color rendering ability of a light source to an object is called color rendering, which is the degree of color realism by comparing the appearance color of the object with a reference or reference light source (incandescent lamp or drawing light) at the same color temperature. Light sources with high color rendering exhibit better color performance, and the colors we see are closer to natural colors. Light sources with low color rendering exhibit poorer color performance, and the color deviation we see is also significant. Represented by the color rendering index (Ra).
The International Commission on Illumination (CIE) sets the color rendering index of the sun at 100, and the color rendering index of various light sources is the same. For example, the color rendering index of high-pressure sodium lamps is Ra=23, and the color rendering index of fluorescent tubes is Ra=60-90. The closer the color rendering index is to 100, the better the color rendering performance.
3. Beam angle&wall distance
The beam angle reflected on the illuminated wall is the spot size and light intensity.
Beam angle refers to the angle between two directions with a luminosity equal to 50% of the maximum luminosity on one plane perpendicular to the centerline of the beam. Or rather, the angle contained by the direction equal to 1/2 of the peak light intensity. If the same light source is applied to reflectors at different angles, the larger the beam angle, the smaller the central light intensity, and the larger the spot.
The same applies to indirect lighting principles, where the smaller the beam angle, the smaller the ambient light intensity, and the worse the scattering effect.
The distance from the wall of the lamp also affects the height and effect of the light spot on the wall.
4. Illuminance&Brightness
As the name suggests, it should be understood. It is worth mentioning that the brightness of the light source is both visually appealing and sometimes greatly affected by color temperature. In a light source with the same luminous flux, a light source with a high color temperature will produce a false visual perception of high brightness. This type of "high brightness" light source does not necessarily have a higher light efficiency than other light sources, nor does it necessarily have a higher illuminance than other light sources. It is just a dazzling "false brightness". So in actual lighting application design and lighting energy-saving planning, as long as illuminance is used to evaluate the rationality of lighting design.
5. Strobe
I once saw the method for detecting light and eye protection on mobile phones on a certain year's 315. Although you cannot see the flicker of the light with the naked eye, your eyes always feel the expansion and fatigue of your eyes when the strobe light lasts for a long time.
6. Blue light
LED lamps emit blue light, so when purchasing a lamp, it is necessary to pay attention to the product's blue light hazard level, blue light hazard irradiance, and other parameters.
